I was in a Zoom meeting last week and all of a sudden popups started appearing and later new tabs would open. I felt like I had lost control of my laptop. Do you recommend going through the steps Read and run me first?

I just looked and my account was setup on an email that I no longer have access to, so I will check in periodically until I can change the email address.

Sorry for the delay. Wild & hectic time in my life. I ran what I could of the run and read me first. Hope it is enough to give you a clue of what is going on.

Your MBAM log was empty. What browser were you using at the time? I would also need the MGLogs. zip to do a thorough exam.

Thank you for your patience, I am too busy right now. Sorry I did not include all the requested info. I was using Vivaldi as a browser. The MGTools did not run completely and had a couple of error messages I will attach here after I selected debugging the tool just froze. I also tried this beginning from Chrome. Do you recommend rerunning MGTools in safe mode?

Please click Start, Run, and enter cmd and click OK. This will open a command prompt window. Enter the below commands at the command prompt each followed by the enter key. The bold black are commands. The red is merely informational.

cd \MGtools <-- this changes to the MGtools folder and the prompt should change to C:\MGtools>
GetRunKey <-- this will try to run all one scan from MGtools. Tell me what error messages, if any, you see.
ShowNew <-- this will try to run all another scan from MGtools. Tell me what error messages, if any, you see.

Then, if successful, attach the three logs.

Are you running the command prompt as administrator?

I did forget to run the command prompt as an admin. See what it says in the attachment.

Please click on start, scroll to Windows System, left click and then right click on command prompt. Then click more and click run as administrator. Then do the command again, please.

Ok, let's go a different method.

Please download the latest version of FRST the below link.
Farbar Recovery Scan Tool and save it to your Desktop.
Note: Make sure you download the proper version ( 32 bit or 64 bit ) for your PC. Only one will run, the correct one. So it you make a mistake and download the wrong one, go back and get the other.
    • Double-click to run it. When the tool opens click Yes to disclaimer.
    • Press Scan button.
    • It will make a log (FRST.txt) in the same directory the tool is run. Please attach it to your next reply.
    • The first time the tool is run, it makes also another log (Addition.txt). Please attach it to your reply.

No malware. If it only happens when using Vivaldi, I would remove it and then run CCleaner (cleaner and registry). After which, reboot.
