In Need Cable Modem Recommendation

    Greetings Geeks -

    I am looking to ditching the Comcast equipment and I would like to purchase a cable modem. I really don't know much about them. I have a pretty fast Comcast cable connection in the Baltimore area. The modem would provide Internet to my TP Link router (which I like a million times more than my old Syslink).

    So, an recommendations? Thanks for any help.

    I bought my own modem 10 years ago and my ISP is Comcast. Motorola Surfboard has always worked well so I searched for what Comcast approves and found some Surfboards in the list.

    I got a letter recently from Comcast telling me I should upgrade from my DOCSIS 2 modem to a DOCSIS 3 one. So I started searching and discovered there are two Motorola Surfboard modems that work well. The models are SB6121 and SB6141. I don't know the difference between the two models but both have good reviews from real users.
