in need of a hard drive expert

gunna get a new hdd for xmas, my first choice was a western digital BLACK with a 32 MB cache

now does the GP mean the drive wont run as hot?

can u give me all pros and cons, my 2 biggest concerns is speed and heat

 

The first and second drives are basically the same except for size. They will run the same, except the GP appears to have a variable speed and will spin slower when appropriate (or shut down) to save power. Data access on the GP will be a bit slower, but probably won't be noticeable to the average human. The 3rd drive however, is a monster. It is currently one of the fastest drives on the market (only the 15k rpm SCSI drives are faster). Unless you have a real need for really fast data access, the cost doesn't make it realistic for most people. As to the heat issue.... the average home user generally doesn't need to be concerned with hard drive temperatures, and many cases these days include fans (or a place to mount a fan or two) right up front that blow directly across the hard drives.

 

i understand whaat you are saying, so heat wuse the 1st two wont make mycg difference, and the GP may be just a tad slower

the last one being super fast and do my qwesruib us, hiw much heat would i have to worry about then?

in terms of fans, i have th e gan in thePSU, back fan, heatsink and one of the top most rated fans for the cpu, a side casee fan and a front face, the front sucks air in rbrtuyjoomh rldr n;ped oy piy

using this program called speedfan it just makes me wonder if something is wrong and neeeds correcting
