Have you had a bad experience like this on a plane?

Many years ago I had a really bad flight that was very rough and everyone had to put their seatbelts back on and their trays up. Up near the front of the cabin was a very nervous passenger that was obviously scared of flying and was getting quite upset when the plane was being buffeted and pitching about. Next thing you know she starts projectile vomiting down the aisle then it was like a wave as more people started getting a whiff of the vomit and started vomiting themselves. In the end most people vomited and there was vomit everywhere because everyone was stuck in their seats with the seatbelts on and it was the most disgusting thing sitting in the stinking cabin. The air freshener the cabin crew sprayed made it worse and after 15 minutes of holding it in, I succumbed and spewed so violently that half of it missed the airsickness bag. Talk about disgusting..... I was on my way to an interstate business meeting and had to buy a new set of clothes and get changed making me a bit late for the meeting....
What a shocker of a trip

Another really bad plane trip for a workmate...... he was on a trip back to Greece to introduce his fiance to his grandma and grandpa. He was sitting next a woman on one side and his fiance on the other side. The woman had fallen asleep and was leaning on him so he asked the cabin crew to wake the woman up because he didn't want to wake her up and have her think he was molesting her. The air hostess started talking to the woman and no answer so she gave her a gentle shake. That was when she discovered the woman was dead. They found a doctor on the flight and he confirmed she had probably had a heart attack and nothing more could be done. Because the flight was completely full and there were no empty seats, my workmate had to sit beside the dead woman until they touched down two hours later. Ewwwwww........

Not a bad experience just one that caught me by surprise. While in the US Navy I made 5 or 6 trips back and forth from New York and Rome. And what caught me by surprise was the clapping when the plane touched down. The people with obvious European heritage went bonkers with the clapping.

The closest to something going wrong was one trip I already knew where in the terminal at Rome to get a 'latte and panini as usual. I completed my trip and went on back to Sardinia. Maybe 2 days later, these Libyan terrorists shot up the whole area where this coffee bar was located. If anything had changed during the trip, who knows!

 

Isn't the saying "A good landing is one you can walk away from" Obviously these people were glad it was a good landing lolol

My brother is an air traffic controller and his mates in Canberra tower sent him this video footage in 2009 and it is taken from the air traffic control observation deck at Canberra tower when a fully loaded russian cargo jet needed every bit of the runway to take off and it looked like it was going to go off the end of the runway and not get rotation (airborne). You can hear the air traffic controllers talking about the take off and with the odd bit of swearing......mildly NSFW
