I have a couple of questions about Incredimail. One is that I heard it is spyware. If this is true what exactly does it spy on? Two I was just told by an email group I'm on that they think people can't view some emails that are sent by Incredimail users. Could this be true or just their conclusion because they simply don't like Incredimail? I've used in for about two years know and like it alot. Maybe it's causing problems I wasn't aware of but it would be nice to have information about it.

    Thanks!

I've used Incredimail for 2 years without too many issues. Older versions suffered from memory creep so that after a couple of days it had to be shut down and restarted. I know many say that its spyware, but Ad-Aware and Spybot don't complain so I think (hope?) I'm ok. problems with others reading mail generated from Incredimail mainly comes from sending to corporate email addresses that have bots that detect the Incredimail tag as multimedia and quarantines the mail or rejects it outright. Incredimail does give you the option to send plain text which removes coloured backgrounds and the tag animation which seems to get around the problem. I like it because its fun, and (possibly??) less likely to be under attack from nasties who target Outlook.

Yes I use it too and purchased it years ago.. maybe the free version is 'spyware' because of the banner ads at top, but no spy sweep I've ever done caught anything. I haven't had a complaint about the program yet and they have made improvements - like backing up & moving your mail data easy.

Depends on your definition of spyware. IMHO, for example, cookies are good. Tens of thousands are called spyware, yet they never collect personal data, simply anonymous info to improve web surfing. I have never minded them knowing my operating system, browser, etc., because it helps them make a better product and offer sales information. Like cookies, if this bothers someone the only choice is not to surf. Almost every website tracks anonymous data to improve services.

Oops, or what Adrynalyne said :)

I don't mind them knowing how often I use their product, etc. Most people don't read user agreements (like myself) so it probably mentions that they take liberty in doing this and you agree to it. So I don't understand the shunning of Incredimail that some people do.

I did figure out the problem with my yahoo egroup. For what ever reason Incredimail emails does not wrap around their advertisments so you have to stop them between midway and 3/4 to the end. No big deal there either.

    Thanks for the info..

I have purchased 2 IncrediMail packages and can't get them to send emails. The emails always end up in waiting to be sent box. I have SBCYahoo DSL. Is Yahoo blocking my Incredimail? What can I do? Nancy
