Ingham Micro versus Newegg - Which is a better value?

This is a question aimed specifically at fellow geeks who own or handle buying for small PC repair shops...

I recently opened my own shop. My initial sales and service volume are a bit better than I expected. Although I'm initially keeping a limited stock of common items (hard drives, routers, keyboards, surge protectors, etc.), I suspect my parts sales volume will grow over the next few months.

Currently, I'm buying from a local wholesaler (tax exempt resale) and occasionally picking up sale items from NewEgg.

For a store like mine that does about $2K-$3K/month in parts and accessories sales, would I get significantly better pricing signing up with a wholesaler such as Ingham Micro? Keep in mind I'll be ordering only a few of each item at a time - not dozens or hundreds.

Ingham Micro won't disclose pricing unless I pay a membership fee of a few hundred bucks (refunded if I order over $1500 in the first 90 days).

From experience, how do Ingham Micro's wholesale prices compare against NewEgg's sale prices and Shell Shockers? Will I save enough to justify paying Imgham's up front fee and placing a large ($1500) order within 90 days?

Any advice from other people in PC parts retailing is appreciated. Thanks. :)

have you heard of this place? http://www.evertek.com/
Just by chance I needed to buy some stuff at the local computer store, and I asked where they purchased their items. He said he can get some good deals, better than newegg

Looks interesting. My only concern is buying and selling "refurb" items. Based on my experience working at Fry's and other electronic retailers, I know the DOA/customer return rate on refurb items is several times higher than new product.

And, speaking of Fry's, at least now I know where all the AirLink products ended up... :-D
