Errrrm no it doesnt Steve, I have enough trouble with the medical mumbo jumbo I need to learn now and its set to get worse, you'll be calling me Dr Halo in a year or so if things carry on as they are now :)

That would be cool if you find it mate.

Nah.... I have not the time to get medical degree now, I'll stick with research work, less stressful than being Dr.

Will use that video in work tho Steve as its good to train folk with on blood and cells.

Doctor? How cool is that! What's your area of concentration? And hopefully, in 5 1/2 years, you'll be calling me Overcooked PharmD. :D

Nah OC, I'm too old and have no interest in becoming a DR.

I do however work in medical reseach ( Ophthalmology to be exact ), and have to know alot about the diseases we are working on and the complete workings of the eye, thus as my boss who is a professor and surgeon says I know more than the majority of docs on the diseases we research currently as we are at the cutting edge.

Main areas are Age Related Macular Degeneration and Diabeties ( diabeties is looking into seeing if computers and digital imaging can detect the subtle changes in the blood vesses of the retina in size thickness and bifurcations are different in a normal eye and a diabetic.. means mapping the eye BUT could aid faster detection rates, also could have security and other application using the same software *these are not iris scans but retina or a specific part in the macular region in a size of no more than 10mm )

for a guide this is the optic disk and its size is from edge to edge is 1.8mm and we get to see these in 3d stereoscopic form

both interest me greatly as they are both sight threatning diseases.

GOOD LUCK with the PharmD Overcooked :)

When I first read the thread title, 'Inner Life of A Cell', I thought it might be the biography of some guy in a prison cell, or something.

Yep, my medical days are long gone, (at least as far as vocation). I used to love molecular biology - still got a bookcase full of textbooks on that, and related subjects in one of my living rooms.

Outstanding video. It does help to have a graphical representations. Would look good in high resolution, and with commentary. (And, yes, it's based on fact).

Looks like some neat stuff! Here's to you finding a cure to all the diseases I'll have when I get old. :) And thanks for the luck, I know I'm going to need it.
