I recently upgraded to Windows 7 -32bit and found that randomly no matter what program is open or what I am doing I will get a input not supported error on my montior. The only way I have found to get rid of the error for the moment is to do a force reboot (hold power button down). It has happened with me just looking at the desktop, however it seems to happen more often then not when I am doing something that requires more graphics.

One odd note not sure if matters is five of my IRQ's are 4294967290-4294967294. One of which is graphic related.

Anyone have an idea where to start?

    My machine:
    Intel Core i7 CPU 920 @ 2.67 GHz, 2666 Mhz 4 Cores, 8 Logical Processors
    Systemboard with IntelĀ® X58 Chipset
    ATI Radeon 4850 Series
    DDR 3 RAM 3 GB

Try changing your screen resolution.Either in Windows 7 or your ATI driver.

If that doesnt work you could try uninstalling/reinstalling (or updating) your video driver

First off thank you for the reply, However I have tried changing the resolution and even used a different monitor. I have even tried older, newer, and same driver reinstalled from multiply places.

I did find someone suggesting whenever I use a program that is graphically intense to do it in Windows mode, this has seem to make the problem happen less often but not stop it entirely.

Did you build the rig yourself?

Do you know what brand of motherboard it is?

When you say "upgraded" to Windows 7 did you just upgrade your previous OS or did you do a clean install of Windows 7?

    Sorry for all the questions.

I rebuilt the rig to be the same as old.
What happen is my friend bought it and did not like how it ran so he scrapped some pieces, I then purchased the same pieces that were in it so it is now the same machine. However i do not have the cd that had all the drivers as he took that.

It is a Gateway FX 6000

I do not know 100% what the motherboard is.

I did a clean install of Windows 7

And np more question easier is to find problem :)

Lets try this. Go here http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx?p=win7/windows-7-32bit

Download that driver package. When its done open the installer. You will have to click on a couple of things but you should get to a screen that ask you if you want to install the new driver or uninstall the OLD driver...click uninstall...then it will ask to do a custom or express..choose express.

After it uninstalls all the old ATI software it should ask you to reboot... do that.

When you get back to your desktop click the driver package again and choose install the new driver.

I went ahead and DL'd the driver package from your link. It happened to be the same one I had just installed.

However, I did uninstall reboot reinstall and reboot. Problem still there

How about the video card itself.Have you checked it to make sure it is seated correctly in the PCI-E.
I would take out completely and re install it back into the slot.

The video card is complete in, i did take it out and put it back in.

I have not gotten the error without reproducing it, at least today.

Another forum has suggested rolling back from Direct x 11 to 9, as they had similiar problem and this fixed it however they were going from 10 to 9 and were on Vista OS not windows 7.

Do you believe that would help?
If so how would i go about doing this as you can not just install 9 and have it override 11.

I took the time to write down two different ways to reboot the machine. When the error popped up i tried both ways last three times i got the error and neither time it worked.

    How clean is the card?

Please install a temperature monitoring program such as SpeedFan and post back the temperatures of the GPU.

I ran speed fan everything is between 15C-37C but one item, says it is IT8720F is running way too hot (110C-120C). I opened my case while it was on and found that it is either or related to a heat sink doesn't seem as hot as it says but very hot on my motherboard right above the Graphic card.

I also was asked on another forum to check voltage on speedfan but that forum is down and i do not understand the readings. Is there anyway you can help me decifer them. (Even tho sounds like motherboard needs replaced)
