Instalation of joystick OR gameport troubles

I have MB Gigabyte 7N400-L (nF2, onboard sound), Terratec Aureon 5.1 Fun sound card and Win XP SP2.
Problem occurs when I want to install joystick ( i have microsoft Sidewinder Pro and some wheel Dexxa). They both work on a different comp not based on nF2 chip.
Onboard gameport is installed sucessfully and control panel shows that it works without a problem, but when i connect any of those joysticks in game controllers an error occurs - it shows that a joystick is not connected (using a cable that came with terratec). I/O resources of onboard gameport are 0201 or 0209, not working on any.
When i try to install gameport on terratec (onbord turned off in bios) also error occurs - it says:"This device cannot find enough free resources that it can use. (Code 12) ; Input/Output Range 0201 - 0201 not available." But nothing is using this I/O.
Latest drivers (MB, terratec) installed.

BTW on another comp with nF2 chip terratec has same error, on a third P3 700 comp it work ok.

I had a similar problem with a game controller on a Dell PC. I called tech support and they said something about the game controller not being compatible with their chipset and/or USB port. If this is the case with yours, you are out of luck and you will have to get one that is compatible.

If it is a problem with the chipset you could check the gigabyte web site to see if they have a bios upgrade to correct that problem but then you would have to flash the bios.
