robertbiferi I can't follow the rules

If I download a program I download the installer to my desktop and then run the installer and install the program.

Then I Delette the installer from my Desktop.

But when you go to download a program what if you pick RUN and not SAVE?

I know it will auto run the installer and install the program. But does the Broswer some how keep the installer someware?

What I meen is if I just pick the RUN option and not SAVE the program will just install and I don't think it is saving the installer.exe file anywere. Because I always Delette the installer I download to my Desktop after I install a program. But if I pick RUN I will not even be puting a Installer.exe on my computer right?

Correct - if you RUN instead of SAVE, there should be no installer traces (especially if temporary files are cleaned)...

IMO, though, the dangers and disadvantages of running an installer through a browser opposed to downloading the installation file outweigh any advantages:

    1. If you download the installer, then you can scan the file before installing to verify its security...

    2. If you download the installer, then you don't have to depend upon your internet connection and browser integrity during the installation...

To me, it's just safer and smarter to d/l the executable - after the program's up and running, then perform your cleanup...

I doubt that the actual executable is stored, but it wouldn't surprise me if some temporary files that are created during the installation process are stored in temporary folders.

If the installer is properly written, if the browser handles all of the installation processes flawlessly, and if the operating system translates everything presented to it in a seamless fashion, then an online installation should run smoothly and all temporary traces should vanish - but those are big ifs...

It usually just downloads the whole installer to your temp files, then runs it, you can't run an installer with out downloading it.
