install isues

hello there
first time on a forum. having a problem loading windows 2000 pro. the disk is original. i have a intel perl865 board. just over three g's of ram and a 160 g western digital hard drive. i am getting a error during the os install. there is a blue screen with the following:
stop:0x00000050 (0xe5d7ffb0,0x00000000, 0x8046a3b4, 0x00000002)
address 8046a3b4 base at 80400000, date stamp 3 ad 77869-ntoskrnl.exe

i have been using computers for years, but this is over my head. i would love to fix it myself, but i may just know enough to get myself into trouble. it seems not to be loading some of the installation files. i thought my old hard disk was bad, so i bought a new drive as i noted above. any one have a helpful hint? anything would really be appreciated. thanks guys!
