Hi,i have windows xp,hp a200n computer.I am going to replace my cd writer with a new dvd rewritable internal drive.
Do i need to remove any info on the cd writer from the computer before installing dvd writer,or does xp automatically delete info on the cd writer after it senses it has been replaced with the new dvd hardware?
    THANKS TO ANY WHO RESPOND

Never had a problem simply unplug, plug in new drive. You should not either :) Your BIOS and Windows should auto detect. Most CD burning software will too, but its a good idea to choose the recorder in your options menu of your favorite CD burner.

your new dvdcdrw should be set as the primary cd in your system
