Install Qestion?

Hi, I am trying to install win7 (full version,not an upgrade) on a Acer Aspire 5315 Laptop witch came with vista. During install the computer will freeze and go no further. The current hard drive is configured (80 gig total=c drive 40 gig total with 1.2gig free space,d drive=40gig total with 35gig free space). Do I need to free up space on the c drive so win7 will install and if so how much free space is needed. I will reformat the drive if I can get to that point.
1.5Gig of ram (will update)

32 bit, looks like i need to free up 16 gigs on my c drive. Thanks, I will Try this when i get home.

 

I would advise to format your hard drive and install windows 7 from a fresh install as then it would be a clean system not a upgrade as this sometimes causes errors on your system.

If you have got any files on the hard drive (C) I would back these up or move them to your other hard drive for keeping.
