OK I used my 1 TB drive to install 7 on. Then through disk management I formatted the hard drive I WANT to have 7 on. How do I set the drive up so Windows 7 setup will recognize the drive? It said "healthy main partition after I formatted it) but I tried to install 7 on it and it's still not recognized. Thanks.

Have you set the 1Tib in the Disk Boot order in Bios, any further probs unhitch other HD's and boot with OS disc, also check boot order is set to CD.

i dont want to use the 1 tb. i have a problem with another drive not being recognized. it shows up in disk mgmt. it shows up in the bios. but when i try to install win 7 it doesn't show at all.

also, i know the drive is not damaged.

    It says when loading 7

    "Load driver
A required cd/dvd drive device driver is missing. Blah blah blah insert it now.

How do I get this driver? it's a 250 GB western digital WD2500YD (Caviar RE16)

Are you trying to Load the Win 7 on the 250 Gig WD, ? Are you familiar with the CMOS Jumper settings ??? I would be inclined to reset the cmos then hitch the drive (singularly) up and see if that solves it. The Jumper is set to 1 and 2 pin take it off (Jumper) and place on Pins 2 and 3, leave for a minute then replace, The Jumper will be close to the Motherboard battery.

just went and got a 78 GB 10,000RPM 16Mb cache Drive. I was just over it. I'll just use the 7200 for my D drive (storage). plus I've got the 1 TB drive. and another 300 GB drive (only 8 MB cache though).

Question. If I get an identical drive that I just got could I set up a RAID so it's 156 GB and 32 Mb cache? If my motherboard supports it of course. It's an MSI p6ng neo-digital MOBO.

    Thanks everyone for the help.

I'm sort of glad this all happened in a way. I can tell a huge difference in the speed of my HD. Thanks everyone for helping out.
