installation file change monitor?

Hello,

When installing a program is there software that can:

1. Monitor files being installed
2. Show which files on my computer are being changed during installation
3. Show what files are being created and the destination

for example: If i wish to install a program, there are some changes to my computer that I can't see. I can see where the program puts its main folder (in program files) but it also puts parts of it other places on my computer I can't find or see where they are put.

If anyone can help me locate a program that shows what is being installed, created, modified etc I would be very greatful. Thx in advance.

I would recommend Filemon to monitor file activity by process, as well as Regmon to monitor registry changes.

Both programs show real-time activity, so it is a little hard to follow, but you can export the data to text, and search for the name of the setup program that you wish to monitor.
