Ran into a bit of a weird issue. A few days ago, a co-worker had a problem with a couple of fonts not appearing. This was originally discovered in AutoCAD, so we thought as a program issue. Today, we discovered it also applies to Microsoft Word. The font is in the list, but boxes appear in place of the letters. It must be a Windows issue.

The fonts are installed, but do not show up in the Windows\fonts folder nor in the fonts in the control panel. We can install those fonts and it asks to replace them. So they are there. I have been looking all over the place for a solution and haven't found anything. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

The fonts cache might be corrupt.
Open C:\Windows\System32, look for the file FNTCACHE.DAT and delete it.
    Restart Windows.

It turned out to be a corrupted user profile within Windows. We accidentally discovered it when we were logged in as the admin on the machine.
