installed new antivirus over old one and having problems

hi, i currently have trendmicro titanimum antivirus installed on my computer. the subscription expires tomorrow and i didn't want to renew my subscription, so i decided to install avast free antivirus instead. i didn't unistall the trendmicro first, and now my computer freezes everytime the desktop loads. it says on the trendmicro icon that protection is loading but it never does, and i think that's what is causing the problem. i was able to unistall trendmicro on safe mode, but in regular mode it won't let me because it keeps saying protection is loading. i was able to unistall avast to see if it would help, but it doesn't. trendmicro still freezes when i start the computer and when i click on any icon on the desktop it freezes. any help will be appreciated. thanks.

 

since you've already partially deleted both anti viruses now. lets finish the job

GO BACK INTO SAFE MODE..

run both of these tools:

make sure you download the correct version for you windows. if you need help, post what version of windows you have and ill direct link you.

and then run this removal tool from avast:

http://files.avast.com/files/eng/aswclear5.exe

reboot pc after you've run both tools. see if pc crashes now

 

i wasn't able to access the internet in safe mode for some reason, maybe i clicked the wrong safe mode link? i'm using another computer btw. should i try to log on to another safe mode link? thanks for the responses.

i was able to run the unistall but when the computer restarted in normal mode trendmicro is still there and it's still trying to load.

nevermind, i was able to unistall the program in regular mode. thanks for the help
