Installed new graphics card and power supply, sound is now wacky

    Windows 7 (64b)
    Card:EVGA's Nvidia Geforce 610
    New power:Enyle 500w
    Comupter:HP with a N-Alvorix-RS880-uATX motherboard

Installed both today, download latest drivers for card (don't know if problem was occurring before getting drivers), and now the sound is messed up. Left speaker is perfect, and if I turn it up real high I can hear barely a staticy version of what I'm supposed to hear from the right come out of the left.

    Help me please.

First things first, are the pins plugged correctly in the jack?

What's your sound setup (stereo, 2.1, surround)?
Are you using the onboard audio chip?

"First things first, are the pins plugged correctly in the jack?"

I'm not sure. I think they are. If I forgot to plug in a wire back into the motherboard, shouldn't it not work? I plugged one cord from power to C:, one to E:, and two into the board (one being a 10x2 that is also a 12x2 but can dislodge the last 2, which we (had help) kept dislodged since the old supply only used a 10x2 in that spot) (The second connection into the board was a 2x2 with the top left/bottom right holes being round and the other two more pentagonish IIRC. Had two different wires from the power supply that had 2x2 that looked like they would fit)

(http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf-JAVA/Doc/images/284/c02563446.jpg, the first one I talk about is at about 6 o'clock the second one the yellow diamond in the a little north east of middle)

"What's your sound setup (stereo, 2.1, surround)?"

Two speakers, so stereo. If i plug in headphones into them I still can't hear out of the right ear.

"Are you using the onboard audio chip? "

    Yes

    Hello,

If the pin isn't properly inserted in the jack sometimes it can cause such weird stuff but I'm assuming that at this point you've checked it already.

From what I can gather you attached the Power cord from the power supply to C: and E: which are the hard disk and optical drive.

The 10x2 / 12x2 connector is the motherboard's main power connector, and the yellow diamond is the 4 pin 12v connector which is used to support the CPU. Since the pc turned on and is stable I guess you did this part right.

You said "If i plug in headphones into them I still can't hear out of the right ear." and If I'm not misunderstanding you're plugging your headphones in the speakers.

What happens if you try to plug your headphones directly in the back of the pc? Also if your onboard audio has surround capabilities (multiple jacks) make sure you to plug them either in the white or the black one. Try both to be safe.
