    What OS is this PC?
I read your other thread, exactly how are you trying to connect to your Internet? your PC removed from cable modem/ his or other one is connected, in place of your's?
Does this PC have Firewall installed if so disable when trying to connect.

Go to control pannel/internet properties/ connections, set up internet connections, Click on LAN settings, set to auto detect settings, restart PC.

I have windows 98, no firewall and i already tried internet options and it didn't work. I appreciate the reply though. Anything else?

Yes. I put his comp. in place of mine.

    Oh poop!
    Probably something simple.

Maybe someone else will jump in with some help.

Here is thought, maybe Eithernet card not working, could stick your's in and see.

If I think of any thing else I'll post it.

I recently installed a new modem that came with some additional programs. I installed two of the additional programs (can't remember exactly what they were called...Ad watch and Reminder...something like that). Turns out my internet security intercepted them because it already had such programs and apparently saw the new ones as trojans, etc. I could gain Internet access, but was unable to open my homepage or anything else once on.

Experimenting, I saw two new icons for Ad watch and Reminder on the right in my system tray at the bottom of the screen . I disabled them from running just to see what would happen, then logged on again. That worked and now I can access sites normally.

    Hope this helps.

Maybe I didn't understand your original post, but I'm wondering why you need a modem for Roadrunner?
