it seems aparent that somehow the gods of computers have frowned upon me and caused my new sound card to somehow fry my DVD burner if that is all possible...

a little backround I got a new plextor DVDRW 712A ... I had to RMA because it was faulty ... got a new one it worked ... untill ...

today I bought an Audigy 2 ZS ... sound didn't work ... didn't get very far trouble shooting that problem ... because that's the least of my problems now ... as I said before it's apparent that my DVD burner now doesn't work, it blinks five times then pauses ... and doesn't stop even after resetting my PC ... This is the 'solution' plextor gives ... when I had RMA'd it, it would stop after resetting ... although it did work for a bit after putting my santa cruz back

I put back my santa cruz card and old DVD drive back and everything seems to be in working order... my question is how does this happen? my only theory is that either EST damage(i did take the usual precautions and never touched any pins on the drive, etc) or because I changed the analog connection to the digital and that fried it somehow

needless to say I'm returning the audigy :p
