    Hey,
I want to install a second Internet Explorer -the second one being a French version. I dl-ed the file from MS but it kept asking me to uninstall my English version...is there a way to install the french version so I can effectively have 2 different IEs on my PC?
I would have thought that I could just change the directory to which it installls but it doesn't give me the option... I'd really appreciate any thoughts/help that could be offered.
    Thanks (and 'Hi everyone'),
    fiver22.

HI, I am not a techie but I have had trouble in the past and also seen on forums where people have trouble installing IE. The previous install leaves a file that stops you from installing a different version as you have found out. The only way to overcome this is to change that file. This can be found out from the MS knowledge base if you do a search something like failed upgrades of It.

I don't think it would work and suggest if you need the 2 languages why not use a different browser. Opera has various languages available and I presume the other browsers have to. What about something like Avant which is built on the IE engine and is very similar. Peace Mal

    Thanks for the reply Mal1930,
I actually do use Opera most of the time. The reason I want a second IE (in French) is that in my job I get questions from french customers about banking online and the majority of people who ask use IE. I just wanted a chance to get used to the terms that IE menus use -I'll probably just grab some screenshots.
I'll give the MS knowledge base a shot too.
    Thanks again.

HI, The reason I new about the file was because I had a bad upgrade in IE. I was unlucky as there was no answer for about 6 months and that is why I went to Opera. I am sorry I don't know the name of the file involved, I did follow the instructions and it worked alright but it was a few years ago.

I think even if you do it you will mess up the English install or they will clash in some way.

I thought the commands in Avant, or MyIE might be similar enough to serve your purpose. Peace Mal
