Installing/accessing software

I have a question : ) as an example of the level of my knowledge on this subject I’m not even sure if I’m in the right forum lol

I work for a small non profit organisation and I’ve found a really useful piece of open source software called orangehrm.

It’s HR software and while I’ve managed to install it on my local machine fine, that isn’t really the solution I’m looking for. What I want to be able to do is have it on our office server so all the staff can access it from their own pc to do tasks like fill in time sheets request leave etc.

When I installed the software locally I first installed wampserver, so I have mysql, apache etc

I then placed the orangehrm folder in the www folder of c:wamp/www

I opened the firefox browser and typed in http://localhost/orangehrm and bobs your auntie I can install the software and start using it.

So I thought lets get in on the server. I repeated all the steps installed wampserver on our server, installed orangehrm opened the browsers typed

http://name of shared folder on server/localhost/orangehrm and got address not found error

so I tried http://localhost/name of shared folder on server/orangehrm and go not found error again.

Questions

So the question is can what I want to do be done?

Where am I going wrong?

Any help I could get with this would be very much appreciated.

This piece of software is a life saver even if I can only use it locally, but if I can get it being used to its full potential that would be fantastic.

 

were you trying to access it from the server itself or from a workstation? if you trying from a workstation you need to type in the server name instead of localhost
