I want to upgrade my hard drive. I have a 512 MB PC3200 that I want to install. I already have 256 DDR 2100 in my system. My question is do I remove the 256 and replace it with 512 or do I just add the 512 to it?
    Here are my computer details.
    Windows XP
    256MB DDR (PC 2100)
    40GB HDD

    Thanks for your help.

Welcome to MG's Crabby (love the name) ....
It's not good to mix ram types ....and it would depend on what your motherboard would support. (That means I'm suggesting replacement, not addition.):) :)

This is supposed to be compatible with my computer according to the Web site I visited. Okay, thanks for the advice and I am going to try it now. Hopefully I won't kill it! :)

If you can use both the 3200 and the 2100 ....motherboard supports both ...it will all run at the slower ram ....if there are conflicts ...pull one.
