installing another hard drive

Hi First of all I would like to hello to all you forum guys out there

Can any one help with I am installing a new hard drive and where ever I read I get conflicting ideas as how to connect up all my devices I have or will have
2 hard drives
1 cd reader
1 CD reader writer
I have read that you should not put both your hard drives on the same ribbon unless you are not going to run them to gether,and like wise you should not put your CD drives on the same ribbon
Would it then be correct to set my system up as this
C drive Primary Master My bootable hard drive jumper pins on master
D drive Primary Slave My CD reader jumper pins on slave
E drive Secondary Master My other Hard drive jumper pins on master
F drive Secondary Slave My CD reader Writer jumper pins on slave

Will the CD drives in any way interfere with the faster speed of the hard drives using this configuration?

Any input would be appreciated

Actually, I would make the second hard drive the Primary Slave, and put both optical drives on the Seconday channel.

I am with evilevets. Back in the day, most people did not have multiple hard drives and CD's, now it is common. Your primary IDE should have HD1 and HD2 as master slave. Your IDE2 should have CD1 and CD2 as master slave and it will not matter which CD is which. Frankly, having a CD drive hooked up as a slave to your hard drive will cause slowdowns at points like opening Windows Explorer because it looks at the drives and CD drives are still much slower then hard drives.
