Installing demos

Since getting broadband (whoahoo!) ive been trying to download
some game demos i.e splinter cell.
Out of the 5 or so games i downloaded ; i could onley install 2.
It just freezes up during install (not the whole of windows,
just the setup wizard) usually it would get through the self-extract
stage and then stop responding during the acctual install.

I cant remember if my spec is in my sig so here goes:

Xp home
P4 1.9
512mg@133mhz
40 gig HD (Make?? dont even ask!)
32x CD-rw
DVD (slow probably!)

BTW, for once ive had no other problems of late,

Well i thought it was just downloaded self-extract files.
But i cant install my mini-disc software either (from CD).

Come on you lazy scumbags,dont make me come over there!

Are you overclocking at all? Suffering problems with CPU temperature?

 

And which demos, and from which site?

 

I finally just decided to re-install windows and it fixed the problem.I wasnt overclockin or nuffin,but one of my fans
within my puter is making weird sounds sounds cross between
a hedge trimmer and a road drill.So i think ive got a fan on its way out.I dont think it is my cpu fan though cuz playing games
and that is fine.Also i do get a bit of overheating in the cd drive's
but thats cuz their micky mouse factory jobs!

One last thing.....

Now and then i get an "end program" window when i try and shut down with the words "should not see me.exe" running
along the top - Sounds a bit suspect!
There is some totally un-related good news though,
just discovered (4 my self) weird al yankovic....lol...!

 

download the vietcong demo and the v 0.98 patch that game is the shit
