I have some good dell computers donated by a great company. They pulled their HDs. When I install new drives, what's my best option to find all the drivers I need for the computer?

    thanks for any help.

On Dell computers there should be a service tag. Go to the Dell support page and type in the service tag number. It will then tell you what hardware is used and also the drivers to download.

I was given a no-brand computer. I ran Everest to find the motherboard and then went to Intel's site to download drivers. This got the video and audio working.

I have three Dell Dimension 2400s currently in the house. It's strange but each has different hardware! Two are owned by relative and probably purchased at the same time and yet the hardware in them doesn't exactly match.

Thank you! After I install the HD do I have to partition the drive or do I move right into booting with my XP cd?
