Yeah, this probably sounds like a n00b question, but I don't care. ;)

Okay, I just downloaded a nifty little icon package from themexp.org, but I'm having some trouble figuring out how to install it. When I downloaded it, I had assumed that I would just get a .zip full .ico files, but I didn't. There are only two files in there: a .icl file that's about 6 megs, and a .iconset file that's about 3 kb in size.

I'm not sure how to make these two files become the icons that I want to use, and there is no info on how to install them on themexp.org. Though they do have very detailed walkthroughs for setting pictures as a background.

Perhaps it will help you to know that I'm running XP Pro. Thanks for any help. :)

As far as i can tell ICL is ICON LIBRARY FILE which you need a viewer to open them heres a free one

Or you could just get the actual Icon Library program

    Thanks General.

I was just messing around, and changed the file extension to .dll. I then went to change my an icon, browsed, opened up the dll and all the icons showed up just fine. Do you think that could have any negative effects on anything?

Shouldnt be a problem as long as the actual icons themselves still have the ICO extension

Just to add once youve browsed the file you may need to copy them to a seperate folder before you can use them properly
Not 100% sure but there may be issues with windows using them from there
then again there might not, so just a FYI in case on a reboot or something they no longer display properly ;)
