I have found that the Intel solid state drives, will not format correctly under Linux without, doing some simple tasks first. First your going to decade to it Linux, a duel boot will not work, Because the HDD will not accept a boot-loader written to the MBR.
If you do get a format it will be full of errors, and it most likely will fail to boot.

Preparing the netbook, first you need a good drive wiping tool to overwrite the drive in an ISO format. I used ubcd520 and used UNetbootin to make the bootable USB drive. You have more than enough tools to use.
Under HDD tools you will see drive erase tools. I used the one that will erase any kind of drive
    Use a single pass method.

Then Install your distro as normal. Use ext4 format is the best for SSDrives.
Here is the Netbook that I had to do this with to install Linux.

    Code:
Machine: System: Acer product: AOA110 version: 1
Mobo: Acer model: N/A Bios: Acer version: v0.3305 date: 05/09/2008

               Clock Speeds: 1: 800.00 MHz 2: 800.00 MHz
