    Hey guys,
I was wandering how easy it is to install memory. I already have the memory, and it is the right kind, but I was wandering if I could install it? I'd rather do so, than pay $40.00. If it's important, I have an older toshiba satellite model. Any where you guys could lead me?

Turn off, flip over, and there should be a cover on the bottom with two Phillips head screws. If not, you will have to dissect the sucker to get to the RAM modules, due to some are under the keyboard. Post the model, so we can be better assistance to you.

OK, I can't figure out what the model is. It is a Toshiba Satellite, a hand-me-down I got from an uncle... It's about 6 or 7 years old. I remember the guy at circuit city opening up a cover to look at the memory. Once I open it, what do I do? How should I place the sticks... also, how many sticks can I put in? I won an auction off of ebay for a set of 10 SD-RAM PC 100/133.. thats what the guy told me I neeeded.

It will state on the bottom of the unit. As for the cover, you will have to flip it over and the cover is on the bottom. As for the RAM, unless it is specifically laptop RAM, it will not work is for Desktops. You will only need two chips sets.

Also, you can go to http://www.crucial.com, and run the Memory upgrade advisor, and it will also tell you.

Ok, I found the cover and I seem to know where it is supposed to go. I think I may have gotten desktop memory though, It seems to big for the slot? Should laptop ram be smaller?

Answer as stated previously, Yep. You can probably eBay the Desktop memory to someone else.
