    Hey guys,

I have been working on this computer for a little while now. Everytime I try to install NAV2004 upon reboot, I get "NAV internal error, please uninstall and reinstall NAV". I have deleted NAV2004 from the registry...from the Add/Remove Programs...done all updates available from Windowsupdate...still nothing!!! I can't understand what is preventing me from installing NAV2004 on this system.

Thanks for any help regarding this matter.

    Michael

Mike, welcome to MG. Have you got a defective CD by any chance? You will get a lot of flack from MG 'ers about Norton. Most of us don't use it, but if you paid for it, see if you can get/borrow another CD and try it. Bazza

Another thought, what are the system requirements for NAV2004, Win98SE. Enough RAm, Hard drive space? etc

Actually Im a service tech for Best Buy computers and this is a customer's machine that came in riddled with spyware and viruses. Every tech here has tried his hand on it and Im just wondering if there is something we are missing that is evident!!! By the way, I swear by Antivir....free and very effective.

Have you checked the computer with worm detection tools? Like:
Stinger or any of the other baddie detection devices found in the spyware section of major geeks? ( Here ). You might let an independent scanning engine like trend micro take a look at the system also.
