    Ok I'm sure this is either a stupid question or I've been doing it wrong for years lol

    On my mobo I have slots:

    1A - 1B - 2A - 2B

    I've installed my ram as follows.

    1A = 2gb 800mhz
    2A = 1gb 800mgz

    Is that right?
    Not sure why I'm second guessing myself but it's nice to make sure.
    This could end up embarrassing for me though :-o

    Hi

    No thats likely correct as you have ASUS and I know my ASUS mobo lists that as best way to keep the channels correct for memory installation. For instance mine has 3 channels A, B and C and A1 and A2, B1 and B2 and C1 and C2 and you pop the ram in pairs into say you had 3 sticks of 2GB sticks like me of into A1 and B1 and C1 for optimal performace on mine a P6T Deluxe V2 so always check manual as they maybe different setups for optimal performance

    Thats what I thought, I've found myself second guessing myself lately for some reason.
    Maybe thats because everything keeps going wrong lol

    The only thing I was really kind of thinking about is whether it's better to have the 1gb in the 1A slot and 2gb in 2A but I guess it doesn't really make a difference.

    Hi Ned

    Always better to ask and/or read the manual to just double check on computer issues and setups.
