installing screensaver

I just downloaded a screensaver that unzipped as a .scr file, but it didn't automatically install itself. So now it's just floating and I can't open it up (say "access denied") but so do my other screensavers with the .scr format. I then manually dragged it into my SYSTEM32 folder (where my other screensaver files seem to be), but it still doesn't show up on my screensaver options.

Am I missing something basic here?

    Thanks, Stephanie

I have Scriptware on my computer which uses .scr as it's file extension. This has been a problem before. It shows my screensavers as "Scriptware" files which is probably why it doesn't let me open it. Any way to make my Scriptware Program and Screensavers have a different extension from one another?

Not sure if this helps or not but many free screesaver downloads are infested with spyware. Could be one of your anti-spyware programs is doing it job and blocking it.
