I have been attempting to install a second hard drive. I have celeron(R)2.93GHz on a Santiago (P5S800-VM) Motherboard. Seagate ST3160021A(160GB) is my master drive. I'm attempting to install an ST360015A as a slave. Everything is wired up correctly, to the best of my knowledge anyway.

Windows will not format it, it gets to 100% and say unable to complete. I have used the Seagate Disc Wizard, it doesn't work either.

I have tried various things, read up lots of info via google and have not managed to get anywhere.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions ?

    TIA.

Is it brand new if yes try to return it and say to the dude you can't format it.....

I've got it working now. It's an old drive, it's plugged into the same IDE cable as the DVD drive, instead of the existing HD's cable. Cheers anyway.
