Hi, new here and quite the doofus. I just re-installed my harddrive (with the wonderful help of Dell {sarcasm}) and now I can't re-install my software for my Dell AIO 942 printer. The jackwitts at Dell had a tech. come in and install my hard drive on the F: drive, (why, I have no idea)
and after he left I had to reinstall all my software. Nice huh? Here is my problem, the CD I have to intall the printer software does not give me an option on "browse .. choose drive to install" and I get a message "target drive full, delete files to continue download". This means that it's looking to install it on a pre-defined drive which I cannot re-direct it to, and since most hard drives are the C: drive, I'm screwed. So I called Dell and did the rant and they did nada, zip, nothing. The process got screwed up (I assume) because I had a flash drive for my camera in the usb port and the tech. didn't yank the cords before he did the reinstall. So the system re-booted into the wrong drive? crap....Even though I have a 3 yr. hardware warranty and they "assissted" me through this hard drive replacement. Which, of course their technician F&^*ed up by putting the OS on the F: drive.

So, can any of you help me figure out how I can get this CD with the necessary software (scan) to install to another drive? I already downloaded the drivers from the Dell website, but I can't use the scanner feature on my printer. Dell has not a clue....I have spent... holy mother of Jesus... more quality time with Dell in the last week re-installing the harddrive than I have with my two kids! @#$$%^^

    thanks :\

Move your mouse over your drives and judge by size which is the hard drive, right click drive and rename, local drive[c]. reboot and see if that does it.

Just a thought on this mess... Wouldn't you fire-up Windows Explorer, and use it to direct where the install goes?..
