Installing Unofficial Windows 98SE SP 2.1A

Hello! I am trying to install your Unofficial Windows 98SE Service Pack 2.1a.

I am wondering how to get it to install without changing system icons/bitmaps.
There is a 'windows 2000 color scheme' option when installing, but even unchecked it still changed system icons/bitmaps.

I have tryed using resource hacker on your sesp21a-en_1.exe, but it doesn't seem to have all the icons/bitmaps there.

What can I do so that it doesn't change my icons on install? :major

You might try Desktop Architect
You can save your current setup & go back after the updates

Thanks for the suggestion! At first it didn't work ( it said I was missing a mscp60.dll or something like that...) so I copied over the dll from my windows 7 that it was using, and it worked. I then tried using it to keep the 'theme' but of course it didn't work...( both explorer.exe & shell32.dll get changed after updates...) So then I had to download a copy of shell32.dll & copy explorer.exe so that the themes icons specified to only those files, and not the ones that get updated.
