installing xp on pm2 hard drive

hello,im trying to install xp on pm2 type of hard drive because when i boot up floppy ,the boot up floppy doesnt recongnize c: drive, trying to get cd to boot first also,is there a way to change this to a master drive in the bios to run like the typical way. any help , thanks

 

wait. so how many hard drives do you have? you can cange the order of the boot order in the system BIOS, it should tell you what key you have to press as you are booting the pc. from there you can change the boot order to reconize your CD drive first (unless you have a really old motherboard)

EDIT: i also saw that you wanted to change that drive to the master drive. to do that you must open up the case and move the jumpers a set or two over. im not sure if you aboslutly must have the primary OS installed on the master drive but i think it would be a good idea

 

hello Rob thanks i had wished i look at the motherboard first.spend alot of time on someone else computer. it had only one hard drive in it.moved them jumpers and it did what i wanted to do. it was tricky..someone else built it for this lady and it mustve been a networking computer to began with..sorry it took so long..thanks again.
