Installs "won't stick"

I have pretty much less than year old PC with W7 on it.
Annoying error is - I have quite few programs that install fine, but won't stick.
As in - they work after install, you can find them in directory, but after machine is shut down and restarted, you need to either run exe file again, or open program, reset settings, and then it works.
    LIst is some like this:
    Logitech keayboard s/w
    Odin
    Advanced uninstaller PRO
What really gets me is this one: Verizon drivers for smart phone. I had them installed basically every time I need to hook up phone to PC, or it will not be recognized. I had them from Verizon, had them from Samsung - does not matter. They install, work right after, restart - phone is forgotten.
Keyboard is also annoying as it has volume controls and such, and OSD for caps and other shortcuts. Nice to be able to run volume off keyboard, but I have to physically open pgm every time, click OK, and then it will run.
Same phone has no issues with same drivers on office machine, which is W XP. Plugs right in.
I have no bugs and viruses, I am protected 3 times over with corporate AV and 2 more pgms.
Any suggestions how to fix this? Most urgent is keyboard and phone drivers, as I take a lot of pics with phone and have to be able to load them onto PC.

    Thank you

As you mentioned corporate AV, I'm assuming that this is a work computer? If so, it may be start up scripts that are deleting/making your programs unusable. :)

Doubt. No, it's home machine, but I have same corporate AV on it as on one at work, and have none of those issues - with same programs - on office PC.

Are you installing the programs with the Administrator account?

Though I do appreciate suggestion, but after close look at the page linked to, there's no telling what you will download, pardon me my stupidity. Page looks like you can download all kinds of "stuff" and I do not do this. As of online scans, thank you, but no, thank you.
I seriously doubt it's malware related.

Novice, give me a nudge in the right direction on this, please. Thank you. I have never used that feature, pgms normally just install. Need a little bit of guidance here.
Also, for some reason, I have two sets of pgms - "regular" ones and "system x 84" ones. I have no idea why, but it is what it is. Maybe that has some to do with this?

I believe that to install as such, you right click the executable and select run as Administrator, or something to that effect! The X86 files are 32 bit programs that are installed on your computer. The other Programs file folder should be for 64 bit programs.

Just by your question, are you running XP 64 bit on your work computer? :) Reason for asking is that 32 bit programs will run an a 64 bit system, but 64 bit programs will not do so on a 32 bit system.

You have a 64 bit operating system. 32 bit(regular) and 64 bit(systemX64) programs are kept separate.

Does your AV have a 'sandbox' feature? A 'sandbox' would allow a program to run without making changes to your PC such as writing settings to the registry or even installing permanently.

PS: Falconattack's links were legitimate, even if your problem does not seem to be malware related. The Majorgeeks link is for Malwarebytes Antimalware, personally tested by this site's owners, just like all the downloads they offer, and Kaspersky is a reputable AV supplier. Sometimes an online scan is beneficial, if for no other reason than to backstop you choice of AV as sometimes they miss things.

    Thank you.

Yes, W XP at work and have none of these issues and pretty much have same pgms on both machines. Something's not right with my W 7 on home machine.

I have ESET NOD32 AV 4. It's corporate and keeps our machines clean quite well. Does it have sandbox? Have no idea. But I see the point.
As of reluctance to use online links mentioned. Look at the 1st page mentioned. See how many "download" buttons is on it? I have burnt myself many times by sites organized like this. I hope, concern is pretty legitimate. Reason I keep asking questions here is that I trust MG site. But pages with multiple downloads.....? Not so much.
Just to dot this i, I have MB downloaded and will run it. I used to have that pgm before, had no issues with it.

    Have Logitech keyboard issue resolved.
Turned out to be, they updated their s/w to work better with new Windows. Apparently, this fixed the issue.
I had several updates attempted before from Logitech, but every time they failed, due to "connection to server timed out" error after download and attempt to upgrade. It did this again today, but then update worked on 2nd try. I, also, d-loaded latest s/w from Logitech and it all appears to be working fine now.
As of Verizon drivers issue. I don't believe, they actually have good drivers working with W 7 or 8. I went through several forums, and it's an ongoing issue.
My phone said it wants to have Windows XP drivers installed (onto W 7 machine?) and that is likely to explain, why it connects no problem to the office PC with W XP on it, and throws a fit on home one with W 7.
At least, I have partial success. I can open phone every time I connect USb cable to it. It still shows as unknown ID and unknown driver, but for what I need, it works.

And yes, I ran malware bytes. 0 malware detected.
