I am on my home PC - Windows XP Media Center Edition.

A couple of weeks ago "Add or Remove Software" in the Control Panel had become re-titled "UninstallTools". I only noticed when it gave a message "Your 30 days free trial has almost expired, after which you will have to pay". Clearly "Add or Remove Software" had been hijacked.

Tonight it stopped working (i.e. the 30 days had obviously expired)

Therefore I uninstalled "UninstallTools" as it clearly was not the original Microsoft process. I needed to recover "Add and Remove Software".

Now there is no "Add or Remove Software" icon in Control Panel at all.

How do I get "Add or Remove Software" back without this maverick "Uninstalltools", please?

    Thank you

Use system restore (look it up in help) to restore your system to a time prior to it being hijacked.
