Hi, this is my first pose.

I was wondering that if I get a AMD 64 with and Integrated Front Side Bus, do I need a motherboard with and Integrated FSB?

When I look on www.newegg.com, there are no motherboards that have an Integrated FSB. Is there such thing, or will any mobo with the same socket work?

Your looking for the same pin mobo, ie if its an a64 939 pin you need a 939pin mobo. Im not sure whats the integrated fsb about yet, havn't found much info on it.

Ive just read elsewhere that its a memory controller .........

For CPUs other than the AMD 64/Opterons, the memory controller is located in the chipset's North Bridge (or NB, the main chipset 'chip' on the mb). The fsb clock is mainly used to synch the CPU and NB memory controller together, and the NB uses a 'fsb divider' circuit to clock the memory speed.

All A64s have memory controllers since day one, but only a few a64s are publicized as having an onboard fsb, which is stupid IMO.

It is HTT Technology. Amd64's dont really have a FSB now it is a HTT Bus, about the same thing though.
