Intel audio driver needed, and D845GV VA doesnt exist?

Hi,

I have managed to install all my motherboard drivers except the audio ones for my Intel D845GVVA. However, I cant find my motherboard audio codec or drivers anywhere, I downloaded the ones from Intel and Realtek websites, but nether of them work!

which havent worked either, and while installing the realtek ones it just got angry at me.... so... anybody have any idea? I cant find my botherboard Intel D845GV VA on the internet anywhere hardly... help! lol

 

Hi thanks for the response.

1. Check in the BIOS that the onboard Audio is not disabled.
Checked and is enabled.

2. Did you install the Chipset driver then the Audio as chipset needs to be first driver installed.
Chipset driver was installed first

3. What Windows version and service pack you installing as if XP then you may need the UAA driver and can get it from Dell here
Running xp pro SP2... shall I still try this file?

4. Check in Services that the Windows Audio Service is started and set to automatic
Windows Audio in services is started and set to automatic.

Still very strange and there is also no volume controls of course to control in windows taskbar.

Hmm, I just tried running the setup for the UAA file and it installs to C:\SWSetup\ but when I try to run the setup file in there, it doesn't get anywhere, just opens install shield, then closes. I have the lastest windows installer too.

Of all the Sound, video and game controllers, the 'Multimedia Audio Controller' is the one which is having trouble and got a Warning on. 'This device is not configured correctly'.

 

No, no other yellow ! warning marks.

Downloading the new UAA file from Microsoft now...

 

Ok downloaded and unzipped, but what do I do with it? It unzipped some files to C:\ and now im in the us folder within it.


EDIT1: Ok found what to do, run the xp SP2 one.

EDIT2: Installed, trying to run the WDM_R229 audio drivers again.

EDIT3: WDM_R229 installed, but still nothing? Windows just finds my Realtek AC97 found as new hardware, and runs the Found new hardware Wizard...
