Intel Chip FSB

Can someone tell me what the FSB stands for when describing an Intel chip?

Thanks for the info! When comparing a 533 FSB to say an 800 FSB, what are we talking about?

 

I think in basic terms iis the speed that the CPU communicates with RAM (memory).

the fsb on intel processors is quad-pumped, so a proc with an 800mhz fsb is a 200mhz fsb quad pumped to equal 800. The CPU multiplier determines the clock speed of the processor so if you had processor with an fsb of 200 and a multiplier of x15 then you end up wiith a processor running @ 3.0ghz. Thats how intels work, i dunno about AMDs
