Intel Duo core v Duo core 2?

Any links to find out the difference between between the 2 duo core CPU's?

Are they pin for pin compatible? Or am I shafted again? Bazza

Apparently Duo Core 2 only relates to desktop machines at present.
Not for my laptop, I guess, but thanks for the link.
