I have Intel Matrix Storage Manager on my laptop. It his part of the factory install. When I run the console for it, I get plugin errors. When I try to uninstall it, it states that the driver is in use but I can remove the start menu shortcuts and the user console.

I went into BIOS and changed the one hard drive setting from IDE to AHCI. When I booted in, windows installed a driver and when I ran the Matrix console I didn't get any errors and it stated "hard drive working correctly."

I still can't uninstall it though.

My question is, do I need this program? I am not running any RAID setup. I have one HDD with one partition. It seems that when I changed the BIOS setting to AHCI boot time is slower and there are more processes running in the background.

I would like to uninstall it, I heard it can speed up the system but I have no idea how to get rid of it.

    Thanks in advance!
