Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG mini PCI card problem

I am having a problem with the Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG mini PCI card I recently installed in my laptop. The drivers have installed fine; as far as Windows knows, the card is working. However, it doesn't seem to be able to find my wireless network (which I can detect with a USB wifi receiver). I have plugged two wires into the card; these are wires that were included with the laptop and extend from the screen, under the keyboard and through to the mini pci slot. I wasn't sure which wire is meant to go in which socket, so I tried it both ways round, with no luck either time.

My laptop runs Windows XP SP3, and has a 3.06GHz P4, 1GB RAM, 80852/82855 integrated graphics chipset and a 60GB hard drive.
Any help would be much appreciated.

What kind of router/access point are you trying to connect to? My wifes Intel PRO/Wireless 2200BG would randomly disconnect and wouldn't see any access points intll she reboots her laptop. I have a modded driver somewhere that fixes the problem. The two problems might be related. I will see if I can dig up the modded drivers and upload them.

 

The router I am trying to connect to is theBT Home Hub v1.0, which was manufactured by Inventel (now part of Thomson).
Have you had any luck finding those modded drivers?

 

Can you remember what they were called or where else I could find them? Does anyone else have any ideas?
