interesting idea for OC on a D850GB mobo

CPU: Pentium 4 @ 1300 MHz
Multiplier: 13.0
Bus Speed: 100.0 MHz
FSB: 400 MHZ
RAM: 640 MB (2x64 MB RDRAM PC800 (400 MHz), 2x256 MB RDRAM PC600 (300 MHz))
GPU: PNY nVidia 6200 Verto 8x (415/775)
OS: Windows XP Pro SP2

Ok, now for my idea. I was checking out PC Wizard 2006, to get some more specs for my PC, when I found this :
System Configuration Options :
"Option #1 : J8C2 Jumper Pins 1-2 Normal Mode
Option #2 : J8C2 Jumper Pins 2-3 Configuration Mode
Option #3 : J8C2 No Jumper Recovery Mode "

I looked it up on Intel's website here:http://support.intel.com/support/motherboards/desktop/d850gb/sb/cs-013239.htm
but wasn't able to find out if this setting might allow the overclocking features to be displayed in the BIOS.

Will this unlock the overclocking features? I have already tried CoolFSB (froze my PC), ClockGen 1.0.4.7, SoftFSB. None work for this motherboard. So this is my last option before trying to find an alternate BIOS, or upgrading sooner than I wanted.

 

did u actually try to move the jumpers on the mobo? try "configuration mode" it could possibly give you some options. is this a Dell or what?

 

This is a gateway. I was trying to find out if it might work, before trying it. I guess that I will go ahead and try it, and post the results here.

 

Ok, it seems that the extended settings are for the video card. Something about a UC or USWC setting. Anyone know anything about this? Or might there be a BIOS driver for this motherboard, not from Gateway, that might allow for some overclocking? I am trying to get some better speed to do me until I build my new rig next year.
