Intermitten sound while playing NFS: MW

Hi,

I recetly upgraded my system to the following config:

Mercury 945GCM motherboard with integrated 6 channel IDT Audio
[MS 888111 needed and installed]
Intel Dual Core 2 Ghz
2 GB DDR II running in dual channel
nVidia Geforce 9400 GT 512 MB PCIe graphic card


The issue is while playing NFS: Most Wanted

The sound disappears and comes back intermittently.

Troubleshooting I've tried till now:

Reinstalled the drivers from the net.
Unchecked 'Automatic jack monitoring' in IDT control panel.


This happened atleast 5-6 times during one race which lasts approx 3-4 mins max. So you can easily imagine the amount of frustration!

The strangest part is the sound does not disappear while I'm playing videos or audio in windows usinf VLC or any other software.
Once, when the sound disppeared I promptly exited NFS and checked in windows. The sound was not there! I checked in settings, unplugged and replugged my speakers, checked the headphones, but no sound.
I've checked the back and front panel both and the issue is only with the back panel.

Is this a driver issue or a h/w issue? If its H/W why does the sound NOT disappear while I'm watching a movie or playing music?

Any help will be really appreciated. I'm almost ready to chuck this motherboard out of my window and get a ASUS G31.

 

im not specialist but try to see what the windows event log say when problem occur. Also i think MW have some sound options but no sure. Reinstall the sound card, but about drivers i see u know more than mee i think

u have undgr too? i think udngr and mw have conflict, but no about sound, these just cant start

 

ok im new to the forum, i just posted here something, why my post didnt appear? i saw it one time, but now isnt. I posted in other section too, my post isnt there too. I lost 1 hour writing stuff, where is the problem?...

 

MW have a patch i think
try to play not stereo or without music...
But other games are fine?

 

All other games seem fine.
The patch is already applied.
I have tried something and that does seem to work - TILL NOW.
Simply uninstalled and reinstalled the game. Seems when the motherboard was changed the game did not recognize the new soundcard.

 

I don't have Underground.
There is nothing in the event log I could find.
Sound card reinstalled multiple times using updated drivers.
NFS MW just has option to make the sound Stereo and Mono, and whether to have ingame music and EA Trax (some rock music put in by EA). Thats about it.

 

double click on volume icon-options-proprieties, there u can try diffrent settings, try that too...
also arent some programs to verify or customise sound cards?
when u reinstall the game delete all mw registry too and the folder in my documents, but not sure if that is a solution. And use Perfect Uninstaller and i his options disable "use windows add-remove"
