I have a new dvd-r/rw. it is an internal type for a tower. I have a Dell Inspiron 4000 laptop. Is it possible to hook the dvd-r/rw to it? The drive is a Pioneer dvr-110d. If so, how difficult is it to do?

    Thanks,

    Hi and welcome to MajorGeeks.

Yes it's possible and fairly easy, all you need is an external enclosure to turn it into an external DVD burner.

These generally connect with USB 2.0 and FireWire.

The enclosures themselves aren't expensive and come with everything you need.

They are called a 5.25" External Enclosure.

I don't know exactly where you are, but any PC Parts supplier should stock them.

Don't get the 2.5" or 3.5" ones as they are for hard drives.

HERE are some examples, although I'm not necessarily suggesting this supplier.
