Internat.exe

Hello,

I am using Windows Me as my operating system. I am trying to disable the Internat.exe from loading when I start IE. I have tried looking within the registry and also using msconfig. I cannot find any entries for this program. I have also tried deleting this Internat.exe from my system folder only to have it return. I no there is a virus out there that mimics this program and I don't have that infection either. Is there some way to disable this Microsoft program from loading? Any advice would be appreciated.

You can disable startup items that do not appear in msconfig using Spybot S&D.

In advanced mode, choose tools from the menu on the left hand side, then choose system startup. Uncheck the box for any program you don't want to start.

 

KS, this is pretty much uselss for most spyware. They actually add themselves back into the start up again.. that is why he/she must follow the instructions in the link I posted. The problem with spyware is about 10 levels more complicated than msconfig.

 

Kodo, while this is very true, Petly did ask for a way to disable the legitimate Microsoft program.

 

you should also never disable system services via msconfig. additionally, there are viruses with the same name.
