Internet access problem.

Greetings all. I have a problem that has been kicking my butt for 2 days. I just bought a new Lenovo computer and I promtly added a wireless network card. Here is the problem. I have managed to get the card to talk to me router, I can ping the internet (tryed Google and Anarchyonline websites), however niether IE or Firefox can access to Internet. I disabled the XP firewall, and it still will not work. I talked to tech support for the wireless card and he is the one who had me ping google. He thinks that there could be a service causing me problems, and I am inclined to agree. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks in advance for your time and patience.
