Internet Access Problem

I recently bought a Intex LAN card (Realtek 8139D chipset) for accessing the internet....We have 4 computers connected to a hub which is inturn connected to the internet through a router.... Now,i can access the other three computers over LAN but i am unable to connect to the internet....The IP address and DNS addressing are correctly entered. I tried downloading and using the updated drivers for my LAN card but the system refuses to accept any drivers other than the one provided on the CD. I installed a fresh copy of windows too but is not working....Please help......

System Config:-
Intel Pentium 4 3.2Ghz
Intel 915GAV motherboard
160 GB SATA HDD
1 GB RAM
Intex LAN card with Realtek 8139D chipset
Windows XP SP2

 

In General, you can debug the Network Setting of the computer following these steps.

Step One. Check the Network parameters in the Computer's Device Manager. Make sure that the drivers are installed correctly; there is No IRQ conflict, and No Ghost installation. http://www.ezlan.net/faq#ghost

Step Two. Verify Basic network setting in the OS: http://www.ezlan.net/Installing#verify
If the above two Steps indicates that every thing looks good but functionally it does not work.

Step Three. Check (and repair if necessary) the Socket Layers, Winsock, and or refresh the TCP/IP Stack. http://www.ezlan.net/clean#refreshnet

hey man thanks alot for trying to help me out....i found the solution....it was a real silly one....the port on the hub wasnt working....never tried that as was havin a real problem gettin my wire reach to reach the hub....anyways thanks alot
